Prologue

?
What are you thinking?
What are you feeling?
Is it what I am feeling?
God, do I want it to be.
Feel what I am feeling right now for you.

"Cherith?" a female voice sounded. She looked up, startled.

"You were dozing again," the girl said, a smile playing on her lips.

"Oh," Cherith answered her friend. Had she? She hadn't really noticed. She looked to her left, where her dark haired friend, Jennifer, was at the wheel, driving her home. She guessed she was dozing.

"You weren't think about him again were you?" Jennifer accused.

Cherith grinned. She had been, but she wasn't going to let Jennifer know that. "Of course not," she said and rolled her eyes.

"You don't even know him," Jennifer sighed and took a right turn. They were approaching Cherith's house shortly. Cherith decided to take this no further and turned up the radio. Her friend gave her a questioning look, but said nothing. Jennifer pulled into Cherith's driveway and Cherith jumped out and started toward the door. She suddenly stopped and turned to Jennifer again.

"I guess it's just because you don't know what I know," Cherith sighed, "But for the record, I do know him, everything."

"What is it that you know?" Jennifer asked, somewhat amused.

"A lot of things. Me and him, for example. It's destiny. Kind of like Romeo and Juliette" that thought made her smile again. "The only difference is there is nothing in my way to stop me." She paused. "I have my ways, believe me." She walked over to her door and opened it. She turned to her friend again who was looking at her in awe.

"We'll either be together, or die together."
